My Voice Seeks You: The Selected Poems of Annelisa Addolorato, Addolorato, Annelisa Translated by Maria Bennett and Bill Wolak
1 Addolorato, Annelisa Translated by Maria Bennett and Bill Wolak My Voice Seeks You: The Selected Poems of Annelisa Addolorato
Merrick, New York, USA Cross-Cultural Communications 2013 0893049905 / 9780893049904 First Hard Cover New Bilingual Poetry 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" Cover design by Steven Frim
Annelisa Addolorato is a child of her era, or perhaps of the epochal break in which we are living. People en masse dive into cities to suffer the tyranny of products; she, the poet Annelisa Addolorato, moves, traveling from one language to another language, however. Meanwhile, as many try to climb on a ladder of minimal language that could interpret primary needs, she flies in the other face of this situation to elaborate her own writing discipline and style. —Guido Oldani With great wisdom and profundity, the writing of Annelisa Addolorato plays with presence and absence, with the present as such as well as the past. Her visions and intuitions continue to reveal a sensibility which shows a mystical, curious, and appealing focus. —Vivet Valacca Annelisa Addolorato presents here a collection of poems which are bi-floavored. In the first part of her book, the essential and meditative style of haiku prevails; in the second, the “Pompeiian” section, we find instead something closer to prose. The re-construction of Pompeii here recalls the paintings of Lawrence Alma-Tadema, and Annelisa, with these verses, completes her own personal and telluric trip through Italy. —Max Ponte The time for these poems is incalculable, because they reflect the cry of the first century of mankind as well as the howl of the twenty-first. —Bruno Mesa

Immagine & Poesia: The Movement in Progress, Chiarelli, Lidia
5 Chiarelli, Lidia Immagine & Poesia: The Movement in Progress
Merrick, New York, USA Cross-Cultural Communications 2013 0893048321 / 9780893048327 First Paperback New Poetry & Art 6 5/8 x 9 3/8 Alessandro Actis, Gianpiero Actis, R Gopakumar. Adel Gorgy, Carolyn Mary Kleefeld, Marsha Solomon Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt
The Irish poet W.B. Yeats said, ‘Words alone are certain good.’ And they are. But when a poet’s work is placed in relation to a painting or a photograph, we can often get an amplifying and expanding of the bird-like track of words on the snow of the page. Indeed, it can be a double blessing: the bird’s song and the bird’s world. It can be another way of interpreting Dylan Thomas’s ‘the colour of saying’. Lidia Chiarelli’s precise snapshots of poems, beautiful and echoing in themselves, are heightened in this collaboration with artist and photographer. The wedding of her careful words, her poetic voice, to such striking images is a personal endorsement of the universal work she does with Immagine & Poesia. —Peter Thabit Jones Welsh poet, author (with Aeronwy Thomas) of the Dylan Thomas Walking Tour of Greenwich Village
